The Future of Religious Minorities in the Middle East

By   /  5 December 2018

To examine the challenges and the prospects concerning religious minorities in the Middle East, and to advocate for the respect of their fundamental human rights, first of all religious freedom. These are the goals of the Forum on  “The Future of Religious Minorities in the Middle East” that RSC Religion & Security Council and the Center for the Middle East of the Fundación Promoción Social are organizing in Rome, at the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See, next December 11, 2018. The Forum will bring together institutional authorities and personalities from the political, religious, diplomatic, and academic field, along with officials of international organizations, researchers of think tanks and study centers, representatives of the civil society and the media. The proceedings will devote particular attention to the future of the Middle East Christian communities, interreligious dialogue in conflicts resolution, and the role of the international community in ensuring the respect of religious freedom. The Forum is promoted in partnership with the Custody of the Holy Land, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, the Notre Dame University-Louaize, and the Middle East Institute for Research and Strategic Studies.
